Welcome to Music!
Music classes at St. Vincent de Paul allow each child to sing, dance, listen, create, read music, and participate in a yearly performance.  We are pleased to share the world of music with your child.
Welcome to Music for grades 6-8!
My name is Carter Leeka. This year will be my 3rd year at SVdP and my 31st year in Catholic education. My teaching experience includes vocal, instrumental and general music classes from PK to college levels. This year the 6th graders will be exploring World Music and Culture, and the 7th and 8th grade will explore Music Around Us. I will also be directing the Spring Play. My theater experience ranges from Educational, Community and Professional theater productions. This year, I will be here on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. If you have questions, send me an email.
Hello!  My name is Karen LeMense, and I am excited to be your new music teacher for grades PK-5!
I'm originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and graduated from the Universtiy of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!).  I've taught for the Archdiocese of Omaha for over 20 years and play for Masses regularly on weekends at the St. Mary (Bellevue) and St. Pius X parishes.  I continue to study music at UNO.
My husband Todd is a curriculum specialist and head swim coach for Omaha South High School.  We have one daughter, Regina, who has begun her freshman year at the College of St. Mary.
Thank you for the warm welcome I have received!  What a wonderful parish community and school you have!
Please feel free to contact me by email or telephone (492-2111) if you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress in music class.
