Mrs. Skudlarek--Guidance
Background
Welcome! I grew up in Omaha and am the youngest of seven. I attended St. Margaret Mary's for elementary school and Duchesne Academy for high school. After graduating from The University of Nebraska at Omaha I began my teaching career at Holy Name as a fifth grade teacher. After three years I moved schools and taught 3rd and 4th grade at Loveland Elementary in District 66 for seven years before coming to St. Vincent de Paul. I received my MS in School Counseling and Mental Health from Creighton University. I am in my seventh year as the Guidance Counselor. My husband and I have two daughters.
Classroom Guidance
As the Guidance Counselor, it is a pleasure to work with the children at St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School. Students may meet with me for up to six sessions of one on one time. In addition, I meet with the students in grades K-5 weekly throughout the year. During class time some of the topics that will be discussed include:
*friendship skills
*respect for self, others, and the environment
*responsibility to family, community and church
*healthy lifestyles
It is the goal of the guidance department to supplement and support the classroom curriculum.
