Mrs. Nancy Skudlarek--Guidance
Background
Welcome! I grew up in Omaha and am the youngest of seven. I attended St. Margaret Mary's for elementary school and Duchesne Academy for high school. After graduating from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, I began my teaching career at Holy Name as a 5th grade teacher. After three years, I moved schools and taught 3rd and 4th grade at Loveland Elementary in District 66 for seven years before coming to St. Vincent de Paul. I received my MS in School Counseling and Mental Health from Creighton University. I am in my tenth year as the Guidance Counselor. My husband and I have two daughters.
Class Info
As the Guidance Counselor, it is a pleasure to work with the children at St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School. Students may meet with me for up to six sessions of one-on-one time. In addition, I meet with the students in grades K-6 weekly. I will be seeing 8th grade students weekly during the first semester and will see 7th grade students weekly during the second semester. During class time, some of the topics that will be discussed include following rules, friendship skills, and healthy lifestyles. In addition, students will learn about responsibility to family, community, and church, as well as respect for self, others, and the environment. It is the goal of the guidance department to supplement and support the classroom curriculum.
