Mrs. Robin Fosbender - Room 82

Background
Welcome to 7th and 8th grade literature! My name is Robin Fosbender, and I have enjoyed teaching for the past 40 years. My first two teaching experiences were in a rural school setting teaching kindergarten through 8th grade. I joined St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School in the year 2000 where I am an 8th grade homeroom teacher and teach 7th and 8th grade literature. I currently hold a bacherlor's degree in education and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Class Info
This year in junior high, literature students will share their love of reading through novels, projects, and many activities to reinforce their understanding of literature. Throughout the school year, 7th and 8th grade students will learn and apply reading skills and strategies to comprehend text by identifying elements of literary text, figurative language, genres, and poetry, as well as completing presentations and creative writing projects. Students will also learn and apply writing skills to communicate through the writing process and will develop appropriate speaking and listening skills in literature.
