Mrs. McDermott--2nd - 4th Grde Spanish
Señora Deborah McDermott - 2nd - 4th grade Spanish:
After 28 years of teaching, I decided to take early retirement last year. I taught 14 years for OPS, mostly in 2nd grade and the last 14 years, I taught K-8 Spanish at Saint Margaret Mary School.
I grew up in Mexico City where I learned Spanish. I have traveled to numerous Spanish-speaking countries, the most recent and most often is Ecuador where my parents have retired for the last 8 years.
I graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Apparel and Merchandising and a minor in Spanish then went to UNO for my Elementary Education degree and my master's in Special Education.
I've been married to my husband, Phil, for 17 years. We have one daughter, Cristina, whom we adopted from Guatemala at 9 months old. She is a Freshman at Skutt Catholic High School and on the Varsity cheerleading team.
